YBCA – Writing Freedom

Yerba Buena Center for the Arts is the Bay Area’s creative home for civic action.

We were delighted to hear from Keenan Norris, an award winner writer and client, that he’d chosen us to develop his latest YBCA Public Square Project along Leslie Rabine.

The exposition was centered on their writing about the methods that people use to speak freely, from guerrilla publication to the circulation of romance writings in Kano, Nigeria.

A platform was required to show their work on touch screens during the exposition. A personally customized and Wordpress based website allowed the audience to interact with the texts.

Three typographic styles were created to give the website and each writer a personalized treatment. The headers feature carefully selected images that strengthen the message.
